Song of the day: TAARN - Save the sun

TAARN emerge as a musical powerhouse from the frostbitten landscapes of Norway, fusing the haunting appeal of Nordic Noir with the flaming ferocity of British and American metal. With a musical heritage profoundly entrenched in the traditions of classics like as BLACK SABBATH and SOUNDGARDEN, TAARN has produced a distinct sound that will appeal to heavy music listeners all around the world.

This is their new single, called Save the Sun. The band says about its writing process: "Drummer Ole wrote the lyrics to this one, Singer Ben (me) had a suggestion for a title: "Save The Sun". I just started singing it randomly while the band was rehearsing and writing it. Ole said: "but the sun doesn't need saving"...?!? Singer Ben said: "yeah, but sometimes the light within does....".Ole grabbed that and wrote this fine lyric.

The song reminds me also of the latest production by Glenn Hughes and features powerful but melodic vocals (the chorus is super catchy), very inspired guitar riffs and a super solid and technical rhythm section. The song is also very well produced, with the perfect sound for the genre. Give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow TAARN on social media.
