Song of the day: JW PARIS - Alive

JW Paris, a trio inspired by 90s grunge and Britpop, is made up of Gemma Clarke, Danny Collins, and Aaron Forde. Their first three singles, "Sober," "Favourite Thing," and "Royalty," received national and international broadcasts from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, SiriusXM, Absolute Radio, and Radio X. They have supported The Amazons, Skinner Brothers, Yonaka, and Avalanche Party, just to name a few.

This is their new single, called "Alive", released on the 21st of November. The band wrote about the song: "It tears apart the framework of modern societal expectations and the pressure to conform. It’s a conversation between your own internal self and authenticity, in a world of deep fakes, AI and social pressure."

I really like the sound of the riff at the beginning of the song, which explodes when the rhythm section comes in, after a crescendo. In general, I really appreciate the spirit, pace and mood of the song, pure 90s and very energetic. The song is also very catchy and radio-friendly but with a lot of character. The production is just right for the genre (it was recorded at Buffalo Recording Studio) and the performance of the trio is spot-on.
