Song of the day: Mellohoney - Coward

Mellohoney is a post-punk/garage-rock duo from the loud suburbs east of Toronto. In 2023, they began recording their debut EP "Genuine People" in Dreamhouse Studios in Toronto with producer Dave Schiffman (PUP, NOBRO, The OBMGs). The outcome was the band's most intense and impactful musical experience, both live and recorded. The album "Genuine People" will be released in 2024, and the band never shies away from lowering it down as much as they want to pump it up. Their music is centred on post-punk, but it frequently veers into oncoming traffic, clashing with rock, ska, hip-hop, folk, and reggae.

This is their new single, “Coward,” which was written with "a sense of frustration and disillusionment with the political system, particularly with politicians and the government. A desire for change and accountability". I like the slow start of the song (great arpeggio) and the guitars sharp as blades after that, with catchy vocal lines and a solid and creative rhythm section.
