Demons By Design - FEED ME LIKE A DRUG

Colin Emery's (PERFECT NME) side project is called DEMONS BY DESIGN

It tries to reassemble these many aspects in a new way and present them in a contemporary fashion, drawing inspiration from previous musical and conceptual inspirations. This musical independence allows for a great deal of experimentation with sounds and atmospheres, including aspects of industrial, goth, and metal, to mention a few. "Kirsten's (Kirsten Jorgensen) beautiful and exceptional vocals accentuate the diversity of the song and add that extra dimension," Colin says of the new track FEED ME LIKE A DRUG. The mix of our vocals creates the eerie duality demanded by the song, an atmospheric, gothic-inspired tune.

A SHADOW ACROSS MY HEART
THE GHOST OF A TIME ERASED
BREATHES PROMISE TO A WEARY WORLD
A WHISPER BEYOND THE WAVES

SOFTLY, BENEATH MY SKIN,
HOLLOW, I LET YOU IN
EYES LIKE A THOUSAND STARS
BREATHE FOR THE BOTH OF US
TRACE ME BEHIND THE RUST
YOU CAN REPLACE MY SCARS

YOU FEED ME LIKE A DRUG
COURSING THROUGH MY VEINS
LIKE MEMORIES FORGOTTEN
THE PROMISE OF RELIANCE

FEED ME LIKE A DRUG
A SHELTER FROM THE RAIN
MY HEAD ABOVE THE WATER
YOU’RE MY AIR

I COLOURED THE WORLD AROUND US
FEARLESS, IN OUR EMBRACE
BUT THE SHALLOW HOPE CAN’T HEAL US
ENOUGH TO KEEP THE WOLVES AWAY

CARELESS, WE BURN AS ONE
FATED, ENTWINED BECOME
SATELLITES WEAVING DREAMS
BUT DARKER THOSE DREAMS BECAME
HAUNTED, YOU FALL AWAY
FADING BEYOND MY REACH

AFTER ALL, DEPARTED
I STILL HEAR YOU CALL MY NAME
THROUGH THE STATIC, CAUGHT UP
YOU MUST ANOTHER WAY
TO STAY
PLEASE STAY

FACE TO THE FALLING SKIES
RAIN HIDES MY BROKEN EYES
A COLOURLESS WORLD APART
I ACHE FOR THE BOTH OF US
FEEL YOU IN EVERY TOUCH
ECHOES OF SILENCED HEARTS
