King Bob - Try

Jackson McDonald has spent most of the previous decade on the edges of Victoria BC's DIY scene, most notably as bassist for nerd-rock band The Plodes and co-frontman of synthpunk duo Timing X from 2015 to 2020. Following a long Covid-induced layoff, McDonald has released "Depresh Mode," a compilation of home recordings that serves as his first official solo album under the name King Bob.

This is his new single, called "Try", the third single from the upcoming debut album "Rookie" on Last Marmot Records. The song features tasty and pure punk rock bass lines and very melodic and catchy vocals (the chorus!). I really like the pace and the mood of the song, overall very enjoyable and with a great sound too.
