Waxheart defies all of the current hard rock genre's standards, echoing sounds from Alternative Emo bands like Sweet Pill and Free Throw while preserving the strong rhythm section that helped Royal Blood gain popularity. Above the rhythm section, there are layered, multifaceted guitar sections and lush harmonising vocals that sound like poetry from a collection of misanthropes untangling the net of anxiety and disillusionment, topics that the band will explore in their future concept release.
"Numb" is their second single. This music video follows the journey of their debut concept EP, Lumiere. Both the song and the video are quality. Regarding the music, I like the contrast between the verses and the chorus, with grunge and intense guitars (great riffs and sound) while the vocals are very melodic. The most interesting thing, to me, is the contrast between music and vocal lines, which complement each other in their diversity. This is a very cool song, give it a go and follow Waxheart on social media.
