ORRA - GLIMMER OF HOPE INTERVIEW

- Hi and welcome to this interview. Tell us about your latest release.
Hello, it's great to speak with you again. Our latest release, Glimmer of Hope, has been available since August 9, 2024, through Sleaszy Rider Records. After the release of Unbounded in 2022 and the addition of our vocalist Louis Hatzimihalis as a permanent member, we began working on this new album. We put a significant amount of effort into its creation. Time to refining the structure
and orchestration of the songs in order to achieve the final form we envisioned. Despite being out for a relatively short time, the album has already received considerable attention, and we are constantly receiving very encouraging feedback.

- How would you describe your sound?
I believe our sound is shaped by influences that are both obvious and more subtle, that may require a closer listen to fully recognize. For instance, we draw heavily from progressive rock and the hard rock and heavy rock of the 1970s. There are also clear influences from the music of the 1980s and 1990s. In
addition to this, we incorporate elements of classical and orchestral music, which are less apparent at first glance but play a significant role in shaping our sound. Each member of the band brings a wide range of musical tastes—some overlap, while others differ—but all these somehow blend to create our unique final sound.

- What do you write about?
The lyrics primarily explore deep inner themes, such as emotions, expectations, and dreams, with touches of fantasy literature, especially in our first album. Musically, our inspiration can come from anything and evolve in unexpected directions, leading to a wide range of creative expressions.

- What do you listen to when you are home?
It varies greatly and depends on the moment and overall mood.

- Your favorite live performance so far?
We are awaiting its arrival, and once it comes, I will be able to provide an answer.

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
The fact that this album was completed and released is quite a funny story in itself.

- Your favorite albums?
There are so many that it’s truly difficult to mention them all here, and I wouldn’t want to overlook any.

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
I imagine they should be alive, as my favorites are already deceased, and answering one of them wouldn’t be a very good omen.

- What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
Some privacy

- What are your plans for the near future?
Well, I haven’t really thought about it
