The EP is comprised of four songs, and it starts with I Died Every Day, which is fast and energetic. I love the frantic drumming (what a sound), and the vocals are super catchy. It's definitely a great start, and if I have to choose one, this is probably my favourite one. The second track, Backrooms, is even more energetic. It's basically hardcore with screamo parts at the beginning but opening for a melodic chorus. I love the riffs and the instrumental prog break on this peculiar one!
The title track features a spectacular rhythm section (I love the bass on this one) and some Pantera vibes while the closing track Repainting Scratches closes the EP with a little more melody and even some Pop-punk vibes. The riffs are very inspired, the vocals are clean and the rhythm section is the usual road roller.
"Ashing My Thoughts." is a quality EP, amazingly written, performed, and produced. The band delivers a spot-on performance, characterized by a dynamic and robust rhythm section, flawless vocals, and consistently inspired guitar work. I appreciate how the songs are concise yet intricately detailed, and how they blend genres within individual tracks.
