Heavy Rotation - January 2025

A good start for 2025 with good music. First of all, the first important release, at least for me, is the new Tremonti, The End Will Show Us How, a very good album (click on the title if you want to read the full review). Not many new releases, apart from this, as every January, but another one is Look Up, by Ringo Starr, now 84 years old!.  Among other newish releases, there is also the anniversary version of Post Orgasmich Chill by Skunk Anansie, with lots of unreleased songs.

I sort of rediscovered two great albums this month,: Back On The Street by Gary Moore (such a great one) and one live album by Gillan (Deep Purple), Mutually Assured Destruction, Live Glasgow 82 as I was curious to hear Janick Gers (Iron Maiden) in another context. I think the bluesy context suits it better, honestly, at least for guitar solos. Another album in my heavy rotation was the very important Surfing with the Alien by Joe Satriani, before jumping in the new G3 (reuninion live) release, out today.

As you know, I'm passionate about Pearl Jam live albums, which I usually use when I have to go sing in a distant place. There is an incredible variety available, finally available on Spotify. I used to buy them but the hobby started to be expensive and I stopped after buying 4 or 5.

February will be a great month as it will be the new Dream Theater and Avantasia, so stay tuned for the reviews!
