Paul Nourigat - Imagined Places

Since the beginning of 2021, Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter Paul Nourigat has put out five albums. With incredible instrumentalists from all around the world, these songs are for the heart, head, and soul. "Smiles That Pass By," the fifth album, was released in May 2024. All-analog, multi-genre Americana with an emphasis on original songs—no artificial intelligence! Paul composes and plays Americana-style music that blends blues, country, folk, and rock, drawing inspiration from Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, The Eagles, and Jackson Browne.

"Imagined Places" is the new lead single released in advance of Paul's sixth album “Curious Directions”. He wrote this song to reflect the wild ride from youth through adulthood. The artist commented: The song is an acknowledgement of the potential we all have, in spite of roadblocks and unknowns. Sometimes, our dreams carry us through challenging phases of our lives. This song's a smooth Americana rocker, about the then and the now in all of our lives, and the potential for cool explorations ... which often begin with imagination. Backing vocals are from Paris (Anna B), lead guitar from Italy (Michele C), and full production in Portland Oregon/USA.

I find the song very enjoyable from start to finish and amazingly performed and produced, with a classy arrangement too. The vocals are delicate and catchy at the same time, the rhythm section is very solid and the guitars are inspired. "Imagined Places" is a very cool song, give it a go by clicking on the Spotify player below and remember to follow Paul Nourigat on social media.
