Stacy Crowne may echo the high-energy Scandinavian rock of the late '90s, but their roots lie in the Cologne suburbs. Founded by school friends Dustin Coutts and Dominik Sladek, the band solidified in 2011 with Peter Koslowski (drums) and Andreas Billstein (bass).
Their 2014 self-released debut EP gained attention, leading to tours and support slots for bands like The New Christs and The Casanovas. In 2016, they released their first official record—a 7" split—through California's Savage Magic Records. Determined to record their debut album, the band teamed up with Swedish producer Ola Ersfjord in Madrid’s Malasaña district. The result: a ten-track album, released in October 2019.
The opening track off their forthcoming second album is titled "Giving Up On You." I adore the song's mood and pace. The rhythm section is strong and energising, the vocal lines are really catchy (listen to the chorus!) and the guitars sound amazing with their pure rock riffs (and a very inspiring solo as well) and solo.
