D.C. underground veterans Bed Maker originally came together in 2019, bringing together bassist Arthur Noll (Light Beams, Kid Congo Powers), drummer Vin Novara (The Crownhate Ruin, 1.6 Band), guitarist Jeff Barsky (Insect Factory), and powerhouse vocalist Amanda MacKaye (Desiderata). After making their mark with a self-titled 2024 debut on Dischord Records, the quartet returns with a lethal two-song single recorded alongside Ian MacKaye and Don Godwin.
The release is spearheaded by A-side single “The Mark” (paired with B-side “What Boy Where”). Built on real-world observations of social inequity and systemic neglect, the track channels heavy thematic weight through pure sonic intensity.
Musically, "The Mark" hits with an incredible pace and dark, brooding mood. Driven by razor-sharp guitars, inspired bass lines, and raw, high-energy vocals, the performance captures the band’s sharp post-punk edge at its absolute peak. With an extensive touring schedule under their belt and a second LP slated for 2027, Bed Maker continues to carry the torch for authentic D.C. rock.
