Dark and tasty alternative metal band from Liverpool, England, formed in late 2013. Federico "Freddy" Spera on bass and supporting vocals, Jonyx on guitars and backing vocals, and Kitty Staunton on lead vocals and guitar make up Novacrow. The band is known for their incredibly energising live performances, which include crazy stage performances, nasty riffs, and soaring vocals.
Novacrow made a spectacular exit from lockdown in 2022. They just performed at Hard Rock Hell Ibiza and the Liverpool Tattoo Convention, won Merseyside's Metal to the Masses 2022, and have a fresh new record ready to drop.
This one above is the third song off Novacrow's upcoming debut album, "Look At Me Now," called Medusa Medusa, after their spectacular performance at this year's Bloodstock festival. With its cabaret-inspired heavy hitter, Medusa Medusa is a slight change from the band's previous two songs and wonderfully captures its sarcastic attitude. The song, which was unmistakably influenced by the Greek story of Medusa, conceals vital anti-sexist elements while making a strong statement about gender inequality.
I really like the contrast between the images and the music, and I love the pace and the cabaret-inspired mood of the song, not to mention, of course, the great performance by the band and the spot-on production. Give it a go, and don't forget to follow the band as well.
