Originally sketched out during the band’s early Austin days but never completed, the track has been rebuilt and fully realized two decades later. Powered by crunchy guitars, driving rhythms, and psychedelic edges, Spreading the Fire reflects on holding onto youthful passion and finding purpose through art, creativity, and human connection amid the routines of adulthood.
I love the song's dynamic and the sound, exploding in the chorus (Mixed by Grammy‑winning engineer Steve Christensen). I love the energy, the performance, the riffs, and the grunge mood. It brings to mind Silverchair mixed with Pixies.
