Heavy rotation - August 2021

Hi guys, as always I'm here to tell you (and show you) what I listened to during this month.

Some good releases lately, including the new live albums from Megadeth - Unplugged and  Dream Theater - Lost Not Forgotten Archives: A Dramatic Tour of Events – Select Board Mixes (click on the titles for the reviews) and the new (at least for Spotify, it was released 15 years ago) EP by Soul Asylum - Stand up and be strong, with some amazing live tracks for one of the most underrated bands, if you ask me. A very good surprise was also the cover album by the former Anthrax drummer, Charlie Benante with Silver linings (click here for the review) One of the highlights of the month was for sure Innocence & Danger by The Neal Morse Band, always a warranty for quality music.

Among old releases, I listened to my favourite albums by Kiss and Led Zeppelin, Destroyer and II. I have to confess that I was looking for material for charts like "my favourite albums from the 60' or 70'", so I listened to a lot of old good stuff.

Also, do you the Flight of the Conchords? It's a TV series about 2 strange guys from New Zealand and I liked it so much that I am even listening to the (weird) soundtrack. Listen to it only if you know the series, ok? Otherwise it will be even weirder!

What did you listen to during this August?

Giovanni Gagliano

Passionate about music I wrote my first article for "Given To Rock" in 2012, reaching now 30K global followers. I am also a musician, gigging around London.
